Jam Guidebook and Starter Kit: how to run a Raspberry Jam event

Extra help for Raspberry Jam organisers thanks to new Jam Guidebook and Starter Kit

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has just announced a new Jam Guidebook, Starter Kit and Branding Pack.

Raspberry Jams are gatherings of Raspberry Pi fans and digital makers. They share their latest projects, give workshops and chat about all things Raspberry Pi. These community-led events are amazing opportunities for people to find out more about digital making with Raspberry Pi, learn in a safe environment, socialise with other Raspberry Pi users and have a lot of fun.

The Foundation wants to support the Jam community to help set up new Jams, as well as provide support for those already running Jams. So the community team spent a lot of time talking to Jam organisers to see what they can do to help.

Ben Nuttall, Raspberry Pi Community Manager explains:

We think Jams provide lots of great learning opportunities and we’d like to see one in every community. We’re aware of Jams in 43 countries: most recently, we’ve seen new Jams start in Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, and Honduras! The community team has been working on a plan to support and grow the amazing community of Jam makers around the world. Now it’s time to share the fantastic resources we have produced with you.

The Raspberry Jam Guidebook is a practical guide to running a Jam. It contains tips and advice collected from the community of Jam organisers. One of the things many Jam organisers told the Foundation was they needed was help with advertising. With that in mind, the Foundation has created a new branding pack for Jam organisers to use in their promotional materials. Inside the new pack, you'll find a new Raspberry Jam logo, a set of poster templates, a set of graphical assets, and more. Download it now!

The Starter Kits will be sent out to new Jam organisers once they've submitted their event to the Jam Map.
