Sponsor Formula Pi

The robots need you!

The world's first Raspberry Pi based autonomous robot racing series Formula Pi are currently looking for sponsors for the Winter 2018 season. Read on to find out how you can help us keep providing exciting racing and live streaming this year.

What is Formula Pi? And what can it do for us?

Formula Pi is the first racing event to feature entirely autonomous robots, programmed by individuals and teams from all around the world. They range from families wishing to explore self driving code to ex-Formula 1 engineers so Formula Pi really is for everyone! They work on their own code at home and then send the code to us to run on our specially maintained robots at our bespoke track near Cambridge in the UK. Thousands of people tune in every week to watch the self driving racing which is broadcast on the PiBorg YouTube channel in two dedicated seasons, one in the summer and one in the winter.
Formula Pi originated from a successful Kickstarter campaign and has since been covered by BBC Future, Linux User & Developer, Linux Format, Geek, Raspberry Pi Foundation, TechCrunch and many more!

Why does Formula Pi need sponsors?

Formula Pi is run for the love of robotics and autonomous driving, but running a track, maintaining a live streaming setup and repairing robots does not come cheap. The Formula Pi team volunteer their free time to run the events, help teams with their code and organise the events. Sponsorship from individuals and businesses means that the series can be run smoothly, equipment can be replaced when it breaks and it allows for new developments for the series, such as the upcoming Raptor class of racing.

If I sponsor Formula Pi, what do I get in return?

We offer a variety of rewards for our sponsors, including:

  • A vinyl sticker with your logo on it around the FormulaPi track
  • Mentions in the video feed on event days
  • A video or image in the video feed on race day
  • Social media promotion on Twitter and Facebook of you, you company or your event
  • The opportunity to be part of something truly unique and exciting

We like to try and keep the costs as low as possible for our competitors, so we have developed a few different pricing plans!

Yes, we can run Formula Pi for events and team building days for you and your company. We have hosted several high-profile clients such as Rolls Royce, and continue to look for other clients to work with. On corporate days, we separate groups into smaller teams, in order to ensure complete focus on you, to maximise collaboration potential for your team, and to keep Formula Pi as much fun as possible.
